Try four pages free

Download the A4 sample, print it and try a hosting brief, one dish quantity row and a couple of timeline jobs. It contains a short introduction and three handwriting worksheets, not a fillable PDF. No account, email address or payment is needed.

The sample is for personal household use. You may print and reuse it for your own plans; do not resell, redistribute or rebrand it. It does not include the full 22-page PDF or the XLSX workbook.

One plan, two working layers

The printable file gives the hosting day a calm physical reference that can stay open beside the kitchen or table. The spreadsheet keeps changing inputs and arithmetic in one editable place. They are designed to transfer the same guest IDs, owner roles, decision IDs and revisions rather than become two competing plans.

  • StartFix the brief, guests, constraints and minimum viable meal.
  • CalculateTurn dish-level eaters and exact pack yields into quantities, shopping and spend.
  • Hand overPrint the current release, preserve decisions and make each owner read back the active revision.

What is inside

  • Guest, dietary-requirement and access sheet
  • Menu and dish-by-dish quantity worksheets
  • Fixed-total budget and committed-spend tracker
  • Shopping list grouped by storage and shop run
  • One-oven ledger and blank instruction-led timeline
  • Room, table, coats, drinks and serving-station plan
  • Final-hour and leftovers checklists
  • Full-day dependency and shared-resource handover
  • Free-tool evidence ledger
  • Master decision register, revision log and handover read-back

The 22-page PDF remains the print-first layer. Editable spreadsheet companion v0.2 has ten linked sheets for the brief, guest IDs, menu quantities, fixed-total budget, shopping, whole-day dependencies, decisions, changes and visible validation lists. Yellow cells are inputs and green cells are calculated. Set the fixed budget once on Brief; Budget and Start Here follow that value. Public examples use roles and neutral IDs rather than personal names.

Who it is for

The planned bundle is for a host coordinating several guests, a mixed menu, a fixed budget, limited storage or shared equipment—and who wants one written system instead of notes across messages, paper scraps and separate calculators.

It is not a recipe book, food-safety authority, automatic menu generator, legal checklist or promise that a particular product will fit the room, fridge or oven. Current labels, complete recipes, official guidance, the real equipment and the guests’ own requirements stay in control.

Launch status

Prototype—not on sale yet.

The planned launch price is £24. Payment, full-bundle delivery and email collection remain disabled. You can download the free four-page sample above without registering.

PDF v0.6 replaces automatic child-portion weights with actual dish eaters and replaces preset cooking slots with a blank, instruction-led timeline. Spreadsheet v0.2 makes missing quantities, yields, units and prices visible, keeps an incomplete shopping total unavailable and links the budget to the hosting brief. Automated calculation checks cover those changes. These are screen and calculation checks, not a home-printer test, native Excel check or real-event rehearsal. The 22-page PDF and ten-sheet companion still need those human-use checks before sale.

Current boundary: the PDF and spreadsheet prototypes include broader blank quantity rows but not the exact six-row quantity calculator or its populated shopping brief. The current prototype does not contain the exact job handover validator and does not reproduce the free job handover validator; the paid pack instead carries reviewed tool evidence, confirmed decisions, revisions and final owner read-backs across the whole plan. Those interactive tools remain complete and free on the site.
